Use Twitter to Generate IDEAL Leads!

How to find Ideal Leads on Twitter

1) Write down your top 3 or 4 keywords about products/services your business offers and your prospects would be interested in.

2) Use the Twitter search box and plug those keywords in, a few different times in a few different variations, to see who is talking about those keywords.  Look at their profile to decide if they are potentially a good fit as a prospect.

3) If they appear to be a good prospect, tweet to them using the @theirname - starting a conversation.  Either offer content they may be interested in or indicate you can be a resource for any questions they may have about those keywords.

Voila!  You are beginning a
dialogue - and potentially a long-term relationship with a TARGETED prospect!

IDEA STARTERS to become part of our interactive community surrounding THIS article:

2) What has been your experience with the REPLY ratio when you send a tweet to an individual who you just "discovered" on Twitter?

___ More than Half Respond Back

____ Less than Half Respond Back

3) On a scale of 1-10, how likely are you to actually try this process for 10 days or more - to measure its effectiveness?

Please stop complaining about how busy you are

Reply to facebook Post,

"Please stop complaining about how busy you are"

This is so prevalent in today's "sound bite" world, I even had a cartoon graphic commissioned which really puts in all in perspective -- GO AHEAD, ENJOY and SHARE it freely!

Custer's Last Stand ->

If folks only knew how Un-Professional they appear when they voice such ridiculousness!

[Yes, I am periodically guilty too!]

It is like admitting, "I am so incompetent I can not even capably manage the valuable resource that is almost TOTALLY in my control - TIME!"

"I am demonstrating by my words and ACTIONS (or lack of ACTION) that I am not skillful enough to capably manage my day in a manner that will permit my business to generate improved ROI - Return on Investment - because I do not consistently demonstrate the solid discipline that guides how I consciously choose to allocate this MISSION CRITICAL resource!"

Ironically, these folks are the very ones I [and other experienced pros] can help with the products and services we offer to small local businesses.

For example, my company's MISSION is to help them increase sales and "Bring the OFFLINE World to Their ONLINE Presence(TM)" BUT, I can't help if they don't allocate the TIME and TAKE THE ACTION to move forward toward achieving that goal.

REMEMBER, by their own words, these folks are making themselves easy to recognize - vocalizing their incompetence with each statement that comes out of their mouth!

They also are easy to pick out of a crowd; as they are the very ones who never COMMIT to any kind of  meeting date or ACTION PLAN, that has the potential to help them move forward more productively - and more profitably.

I ran across so many of these "UN-Professionals" I thought they were forming a fraternity; and they appear to be growing in numbers.  (Don't worry, NO NAMES will be shared here)

That's why I commission the "Custer's Last Stand" Cartoon --

 E N J O Y !!!

PS - Another tell-tale sign allowing them to be spotted in a crowd are the words they use as an excuse for NOT KNOWING, again clearly demonstrating another glaring ADMISSION of their incompetence, "I never read all the way through the email"

4) Is there a positive way to state your reason for making the "Time Allocation" decision that you are choosing to make, that will leave the person you are interacting with feeling good, or at least better about your decision?

What is SlideShare & How to Use It To Grow Your Business

slideshare for businessSlideShare is an online platform and community where you can share your presentations with over 60 million monthly viewers. I have found it to be a very active community where people comment, like, and share others’ content regularly. It is an extremely powerful platform in that you can:

  • Upload presentations publicly or privately
  • Download presentations on any topic and reuse or remix
  • Embed on blogs, websites, company intranets
  • Share on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn
  • Zipcast: free, no download, 1 click web meetings
  • Leadshare: generate business leads with your presentations, documents, pdfs, videos
  • Slidecast: sync mp3 audio with slides to create a webinar

The ability to use embedded links is invaluable in that it enables you to include a hyperlinked call-to-action right inside your presentation. Slideshare, it is one of the largest communities online and is used for sharing presentations with the world.

Currently it receives more than 60 million visitors every month with a whopping 130 million pages viewed.

It is also among the top 200 websites visited in the world.

Even though Slideshare is designed to allow you to share your presentations with millions of consumers across the globe, it also gives you the ability to share other types of documents, including PDF files, videos, webinars and more.

However, many business owners don’t know it exists or they overlook it because they don’t realize what a valuable resource it can be, when used properly.

Square Wallet - Pay With Your SMARTPHONE

Can you imagine paying for nearly everything with your SMARTPHONE?

If it is "leading edge", you would expect Starbucks to be all over it, right?

Well, they certainly are fostering the explosive growth of Mobile Marketing....and to prove my point that Camera-less video is a super way to communicate new concepts; they have even used an animated video to communicate their new "Partnering" arrangement with Smart Wallet, an applicatioin for iPhone or Android that allows you to pay with your smartphone - linked to your credit card.

To see the video on Starbucks own site, just follow the link below:

Square Wallet Play Video
00:00 - 00:31

Square Wallet links to your credit or debit card, letting you use your phone to pay at participating Starbucks stores and other neighborhood businesses.
Paying with your phone makes life easier.

Walk into a Starbucks store and place your order. Open the Square Wallet app, tap on “Starbucks” and scan your phone. That’s it! Now you’ve got all that extra time to enjoy your coffee.

But Square Wallet does more than that – it also connects you to other local businesses in your neighborhood and helps you discover great places and deals. Starbucks is partnering with Square to bring the mobile payment revolution to more places in your city and across the country.

Square Wallet links directly to your credit or debit card and manages your digital receipts. It basically turns your phone into your wallet!

Got an idea on how to make this app even better? Tell us about it at

2) Do you have Paypal account?

3) On a scale of 1-10, how familiar are you with the concept of "Reverse Scanning" - instead of using your smartphone to scan a symbol, you use your smartphone to rpesent a symbol that is scanned by the retailer?  How many times have you actually done it?

4) Again, on a scale of 1-10 how likely are you to download an "App" that permits you to "Pay By Smartphone"?

5) If you are a retailer, how likely are you to become "Smartphone Payment" Acceptance Capable?

8 Tips for Effective Calls to Action

Re-Purposing Content - Is It Effective?

I just started using KLOUT to track my Social Media Presence.

Turns out, a post from a while ago scored quite high

So, tonight I am sending it out via HootSuite.

The original had a by-line:
"Can you spell VALUE?"

What do you think?

Can you share examples of cases where you tracked the effectiveness of your posts and "Re-Purposed" them?

What was the result the second time around?

1) More people responded/engaged than on the original post

2) About the same number of people responded the second time

3) Fewer people engaged with my "Re-purposed" content.

RADIO - versus - Direct Mail/ONLINE Media : To air, or not?

From a facebook post and comment to a friend who just bought a radio ad.

Everything I do in my business (and for my Clients) gets MEASURED!
I hope it is the same with your business, Phil.

->>> I would love to hear what your ROI (Return on Investment) is with this approach.

I believe a targeted Video Marketing Campaign would probably generate 3-5 TIMES more ROI than a radio ad, but it will be a wonderful learning lesson to hear your stats - if they do prove me wrong.

I council clients the best way to gain new business is to cost-effectively use Direct Mail [and Social Media/Email] to DRIVE TRAFFIC to their ONLINE coupon/special incentive offer.... where they can be converted from a Prospect Into a Customer.

In my humble (and biased) opinion, CAll2ACTION(TM) Symbols are the perfect vehicle to get that accomplished. MOST COST EFFECTIVELY, on a Budget!

I'll wait patiently with baited breath to see if your significant investment in radio produces anywhere near the ROI you were expecting. Good Luck.

I love it when good guys like you succeed, because you refuse to let a tough economy get you down; you just keep fighting and moving forward - trying different ways. God Bless You, Phil. I admire your perseverance.
